Saad Sellami
Founder & Lead Engineer — BestPick
Saad Sellami built BestPick from the ground up as a solo developer. He writes the photo-scoring rubric, maintains the analysis pipeline, and publishes the platform's aggregate scoring data. His work sits at the intersection of computer vision and the behavioural science of how people read faces.
He started BestPick to solve a problem he kept running into: choosing between similar photos feels subjective, and most people cannot judge their own. The platform exists to replace that guesswork with a consistent, written, second opinion.
What He Built
BestPick is an AI photo selector: it analyses several of your real photos at once and identifies which one will perform best for a specific goal — a dating profile, a LinkedIn headshot, an Instagram post, or a portfolio. It does not generate or edit images. It scores and explains. Saad also ships Dating Profile Stack, the paid 4–6 photo Tinder / Bumble / Hinge order with bios and openers, as a separate product from the free 2–3 photo picker.
Saad designed and shipped every layer: the FastAPI and Python backend, the vision-language analysis pipeline, the five-criteria rubric, the private-by-default upload flow, and the mobile-first frontend. The rubric and the aggregate results are published openly on the methodology page, including the sample sizes behind each figure.
How He Researches and Writes
Saad's editorial rule is that a claim should be one of three things: measured in BestPick's own data, attributed to a named published source, or clearly labelled as editorial judgement. Where a statistic is distorted from its original context, it is corrected or dropped rather than repeated for effect.
That standard applies to this site's own numbers too. When the dating sample is large enough to publish but a cross-tab is not, the cross-tab is left unpublished — you will find those gaps stated explicitly rather than filled with invented precision. The full dataset and its limitations are documented at bestpick.online/methodology.
