Across 527 scored dating-goal analyses the mean is 54.5 and the median is 55. 66.0% sit below 60 — the published 'weak' band — and only 2.7% reach 80. The useful question is where a photo sits on that distribution, not whether it looks like a magazine cover.
What the 0–100 scale means for dating photos
BestPick scores dating photos against five criteria: Facial Expression & Warmth, Background & Context, Styling & Grooming, Eye Contact & Confidence, and Lighting & Facial Clarity. Each criterion uses the same calibration bands as every other goal. 90–100 is exceptional and rare; 75–89 is a clear asset; 60–74 is competent; 40–59 is a visible problem; 0–39 is severe enough to sink the photo on its own.
